Gospel Extravaganza 2008 will be a night of music, worship, and praise on September 19th at the WaMu Theatre, Madison Square Gardens, New York.

This evening is set to be a night to remember as Shirley Caesar joins Yolanda Adams and Juanita Bynum for a night of gospel extravaganza. Included in this spectacular line up is Caribbean Gospel artists Lieutenant Stitchie and Papa San.

Since leaving the Caravans and striking out on her own 40 years ago, Pastor Shirley Caesar has been sweeping across America and around the world, delivering her Christian messages in electrifying song and sermon, picking up 11 GRAMMY Awards, 18 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, 14 Stellar Awards, and numerous other honors along her path. She has been a standard-bearer for traditional African-American gospel music, yet at the same time has been unafraid to challenge convention and take the genre in daring new directions.

Ever since her late `80s debut Just As I Am, Yolanda Adams has triumphantly carried the torch for contemporary gospel and inspirational music via 12 glorious albums. Stunningly beautiful, exceptionally educated, filled with the spirit and blessed with one of the most powerful voices in any genre of music, this Houston-native and one-time school teacher has been a stately beacon of God's light, earning numerous accolades and awards for her shining efforts, including the first American Music Award for Contemporary Gospel Artist, four Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, four GRAMMY Awards, seven NAACP Image Awards, one Soul Train Music Award, and three BET Awards.

Juanita Bynum is an internationally-acclaimed teacher, prophet, psalmist, and media personality, as well as Founder and President of Juanita Bynum Ministries in Waycross, Georgia. Dr. Bynum is the author of the critically-acclaimed NO MORE SHEETS, MY SPIRITUAL INHERITANCE, MATTERS OF THE and several other ground-breaking books, such as her latest New York Times best-seller, THE THRESHING FLOOR. She is also a gifted vocalist with three powerful worship CDs, Morning Glory, Behind The Veil and A Piece of My Passion.

Reggae artist Lieutenant Stitchie emerged in the mid-'80s as one of the hottest DJs in the early dancehall era. He was one of the very few dancehall artists to release multiple major-label albums in the groundbreaking early '90s. He has transformed from DJ to Gospel after he found religion and began issuing gospel-reggae albums, including such titles as 2000's Real Power. The album proved to be the most successful of his career, making an impression on the U.S. gospel/urban charts and hitting number three on the albums chart in Colombia.

Dancehall superstar Papa San (aka Tyrone Thompson) with his fast-flowing, rapid-fire Jamaican patois-infused delivery combined with his gift for lyricism, he’s gained myriads of fans over the years through his multiple appearances at Sting, at the renowned Reggae Sunsplash Festival in Jamaica, and elsewhere on the dancehall circuit. Following his acceptance of Jesus Christ in 1997, his story has been the Gospel, pure and simple. With his debut project, “Victory” Papa San continues with his wildly ingenious dancehall flow, opening his heart, glorifying God, offering hope to the masses, and providing the party album of the year to boot.

It will be an evening with the best of American and Caribbean Gospel artists as they come together on one stage.
